Recently we catered a luncheon for The Mental Wellness Center of Santa Barbara. The event had about 250 people attending the event. The Mental Wellness Center is a private, nonprofit organization that works to meet the needs of individuals and families affected by mental illness through support, education and direct services. Here is a link to a story about the center and the event.
From a catering point of view, the challenge is to design a menu that can be preset at the table since the whole luncheon and presentation takes only one hour. I designed a Mediterranean inspired salad and a dessert of olive oil pound cake. Starting at 11:15, the menu was dished up and dining room was set and ready for guest arrival at 12:00.
