There’s a new chef at the Inn! (The Inn Crowd, that is) Beginning this January, popular local cooking show The Inn Crowd will be hosted by Chef Michael Hutchings.
Produced by Craig Case, the Foley Food and Wine Society continues to be a major sponsor for this well received show. The exciting culinary action is filmed at Foley’s Crossroads, the lovely Victorian estate set in the middle of a lush field of (kind)some of the Santa Ynez Valley’s finest grapes. The production team YTS is continuing with Season 5, including Will Conlin, Harlene Conlin, and Gary Conlin.
The California-European cuisine of Chef Michael Hutchings will be the star of the show. Naturally, local is what it’s all about. Fresh local seafood specialties like black cod, halibut, sea urchin, Santa Barbara spot prawns, white sea bass, local lobster and Dos Pueblos Ranch abalone from The Cultured Abalone farm join local Ojai raised beef and fresh poultry from Carpinteria are in Michael’s recipes. Santa Barbara Farmers Market produce and Central Coast farm products supplied by Guy DeMangeon's produce company The Berry Man will round out the recipes.
The show will have notable guests from the area to assist and learn from Chef Michael. All the recipes will be posted on this blog. In addition to learning new dishes, The Inn Crowd will be shown the relationship between food and wine and suggested wine parings to enhance the dining experience. The extensive portfolio of the Foley Family Wines provides a great resource.
