Welcome to my new blog and TV Show, The Santa Barbara Chef-Cooking On the American Riviera. I am featuring the California-Mediterranean centric food style that I have been offering in Santa Barbara since 1981. The emphasis is on local food products and wines. I was cooking "farm to table" when the designation was not even a buzzword. Occasionally, fishermen, farmers, winemaker, cheesemakers will showcase their products. Look for practical cooking tips and chef insights, tooltips and a little culinary history. AND, all the recipes from the show will be posted to the blog.
Our studio kitchen is in a 100-year-old plus movie studio that was home to The Flying A Film company during the heyday of the silent picture era. The difference now is that we are in color and talk!
